Overview
With the Grand Jamboree in Paris, iGEM 2025 came to an end. The experiences we had, the people we met and the interesting projects we learned about, made all the hard work of the past year well worth it. The cherry on top are the nominations and awards we managed to secure:
Nominations:
- Best Wiki
- Best Presentation Video
Awards:
- Best Foundational Advance Project
- Best New Basic Part: awarded to our ssDNA optimized mCherry-binding Repebody
- Gold Medal
- Best Veteran Judge: awarded deservedly to our PI, Dr. Nicole Gensch
Additionally, we were placed among the Top 10 overgrad teams.
Sadly two of our team members were not able to take part in the Final Day Show. Eric caught a severe ear infection and pneumonia and could not participate at the Grand Jamboree. Yang-Yun twisted her ankle on the way to the convention center and had to go to the hospital, accompanied by a few of our advisors.
We want to extend our gratitude towards our PIs, supervisors and external advisors, as well as our sponsors and supporters, without whom Concave would not have been possible. We also want to congratulate all the other teams, for their incredible work, especially this years Grand Price winners Brno, McGill and GreatBay-SCIE. We at iGEM Freiburg are proud to be part of the incredible iGEM community and hope to contribute further in the future.
