Team Members Introduction

I wanted to take a break from just passively consuming knowledge at the university and actually spend a semester applying what I've learned so far and looking at things from a different perspective:)

To gain experience in working on a research project from beginning to end

I want to understand what research is like, and have a good excuse to avoid writing exams for one semester.

I believe that bioscience and biotechnology can help improve lives and save the environment. I joined iGEM to help advance that goal, but also to improve my knowledge about living systems.

I wanted to challenge myself, get out of my comfort zone. Also, I want to see if i really do enjoy scientific research and how it is working on such a big project with a team.

I want to apply what I've learned, meet new people, take on new challenges and step out of my comfort zone!

Because I had time and it's interesting, plus I like synthetic biology

I heard about iGEM's info event at the university and it sounded cool.

Because I think it's a great opportunity to get to know scientific workflows. I hope to learn different techniques used in synthetic biology and that it will help me a decision on which direction to follow.

General interest in synthetic biology and to gain more wet lab experience.

I heard about iGEM from one of my classmate who joined iGEM in her second semester, and i like the vision of it. I also think it’s a very precious opportunity for bachelor students to have the whole experience in designing, conducting and refining experiments.

I enjoy supporting students as they explore research, work independently, and face the ups and downs of a project. Teaching methods, watching them gain skills, and seeing everyone have fun and grow together over the summer is truly rewarding.

I participated in 2022 as a memeber myself, since then I just stuck with iGEM and always loved experiencing iGEM again and again with a fresh pair of eyes and a new perspective. You never get bored!

I was curious to experience working in research and developing your own project. I am grateful for our project in 2023 and wanted to continue the support for the new team.

I learned so many skills through iGEM, and I wanted to help the new team discover theirs.

To be honest: I think I miss the stress a bit.

It's great seeing motivated students bring their own projects to life and shape it with their bold, creative ideas. I also love connecting with them and being part of that journey.

I previously participated and it sparked my interest in synthetic biology. Now I wanted to follow the journey of a new team from the advisors perspective. My aim was to learn, from how they tell their own, different story.
