A Next-Generation Platform
for Genome-Integrated BioBricks

What if your BioBrick could jump directly into the genome?

With GenOMe, this is now possible — stable integration in just two days with ~80% success rate

Why do we need GenOMe

GenOMe is a plug-and-play platform that allows iGEM teams to move BioBricks directly into the bacterial chromosome. No plasmid instability. No size limits. No endless screening. Fast and reliable genome integration.

Why do we need GenOMe?

In iGEM, most circuits are built on plasmids.
While convenient, plasmids have clear limits:

Why do we need GenOMe

This makes circuits
unstable, hard to scale, and limited in complexity.

Moving circuits into the genome would solve these problems
— but traditional methods like CRISPR/Cas9 or λ-Red
are slow, complex, and costly.
Large integrations can take weeks,
require expensive DNA synthesis,
and need extensive colony screening.

That’s why we built GenOMe:
a simpler, faster solution for genome integration

How does GenOMe work?

If a payload is like a cassette carrying the genetic message we want to express

then our goal is to design the player — one where a simple “click” starts expression.

GenOMe consists of two parts: Cassette BioBrick and GenOMe Strain:

  • stable integration in 2 days
  • ~ 80% efficiency
  • BioBrick-compatible

Beyond Single Insertions:
cyclic integration

Through the precise design of attB/P sites, GenOMe enables stepwise DNA integration — each round introduces a new insertion site, allowing new DNA fragments to be added like LEGO bricks to build stable, inheritable, and extensible genomes.

GenOMe transforms genome engineering into a simple, modular, and standardized process.

By enabling iGEM teams to move BioBricks directly into the chromosome in just two days, GenOMe removes plasmid limitations, reduces instability, and supports the construction of larger and more reliable gene circuits.

Through its cassette-based modular design and alternating slot system, GenOMe provides iGEM teams worldwide with a scalable platform where BioBricks can be assembled into stable and inheritable arrays.
With GenOMe,
iGEMers gain a powerful new tool
to build more ambitious, creative, and practical designs,
advancing synthetic biology beyond the plasmid era.
