PI

Yidan Hu

Associate Professor
Dr. Hu is an Associate Professor in the School of Environmental Studies, China University of Geosciences (CUG), Wuhan, China. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Environment Science and Engineering from Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Since she joined CUG in 2020, her research efforts had been focused on exploring the application of synthetic biology in the Geoscience studies, especially in microbe-mineral interactions.

Zhou Jiang

Associate Professor
Dr. Jiang, Associate Professor from School of Environmental Studies, CUG. He got his Ph.D. from CUG. He engages in the research of biogeochemical processes and environmental effects of iodine, arsenic, sulfur, iron, nitrogen, carbon and other elements, especially good at microbiome analysis.

Yiran Dong

Professor
Dr. Dong is a Full Professor in School of Environmental Studies, CUG. She obtained her Ph.D. degree from University of Oklahoma, U.S. Her research interests include geomicrobiology, biogeochemistry, cultivation and physiology of unclassical metal-metabolizing organisms and bioremediation of groundwater and soil contamination.

Yongguang Jiang

Associate Professor
Dr. Jiang, Associate Professor from School of Environmental Studies, CUG. He got his Ph.D. from Institute of Hydrobiology of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. Dr. Jiang mainly focuses on the study of environmental microbiology, molecular microbial ecology, modification of microbial synthetic biology and its environmental application.

Zhihao Luo

During my research career, I have developed extensive expertise and a strong ability to quickly master new knowledge and techniques. I am proficient in a wide range of molecular biology methods, including strain screening, microbial identification, gene cloning, site-directed mutagenesis, protein expression and purification, crystallization, structural analysis, and Western Blot. I am also skilled in operating analytical instruments such as SEM, XPS, FTIR, XRD, and using bioinformatics tools like NCBI.

Wei Zhou

Yutong Zhang

I am a Master's student at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from Southwest University. My research focuses on the intersection of synthetic biology and environmental applications, and I am skilled in basic genetic construction. Passionate about innovative and practical approaches in synbio, I am excited to collaborate with our iGEM team to tackle challenging scientific questions and contribute to meaningful projects.

Yanbo Yue

This is my third year fighting for iGEM, and I have been impressed by each preparation experience, I always feel energized and passionate, and I hope to reap another satisfying result this year. From a team member to a captain and now an advisor, I have grown a lot in the past three years.

Han Xi Major: Biology In the process of participating in IGEM, I made a group of like-minded friends. Together, we overcame various difficulties in the experiment and finally achieved success. My name is Xinyi Shi; I grew up on a small Chinese island where the sea breeze shaped my curiosity. Three of my four college years were devoted to the CUG-China iGEM team, and I now channel that teamwork into my twin passions: travel and literature. Shuoyuan Huang

Shuoyuan Huang, a Chinese, like a brick of the CUG-China team, moves where necessary. ISTP, specialized in sleep. Daily life likes to study how to learn with elegance and beauty. I like to exercise in the gym when it's going well, but rarely when it's going well.

I'm a member of the experimental group. It's an honor to be part of this year's iGEM. By preparing for iGEM, I learned many experimental skills and deepened my understanding of theoretical knowledge.Building the microbial electrochemical device is very interesting.
