Hi! I’m Eunice, a rising junior at Chadwick International School, and I’m thrilled to serve as the leader of the Inclusivity (HP) team! Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved biology. I had around four science magazine subscriptions, and I would read them every day. I still remember an article introducing CRISPR as “gene scissors”—never imagining that one day I would have the chance to explore that very field in depth. Joining the iGEM team feels like a dream come true, giving me the hands‑on experience I wished for as a child. Working side by side, I’m confident that we’ll grow together as a team, pushing beyond surface‑level goals and achieving more than we ever could individually. I’m also eager to develop as a person—becoming a better leader and a better student. Through iGEM, I hope to explore new topics, tackle unfamiliar challenges in synthetic biology, and support every member of the team along the way.

Hi! I’m Sooyoung, and I’m currently a senior at SJA Jeju. I joined iGEM because I’ve always been fascinated by how something as small as a gene or molecule can be engineered to solve massive problems. Ever since I first learned about CRISPR and gene circuits, I’ve been hooked on the idea that biology can be programmable. I’m the kind of person who loves spending hours diving into random science topics and coming away feeling just a little smarter each time. iGEM felt like the perfect opportunity to channel that curiosity into real‑world impact—especially alongside a team that shares the same excitement for discovery. I’m particularly interested in the intersection of synthetic biology with education and accessibility, and I’m looking forward to learning, failing, growing, and building something meaningful together.

Hello! My name is WooJoo Kang, and I’m a sophomore at Korea International School, Jeju. I’m extremely excited to join the iGEM team and explore the field of multiple myeloma as a member of the Inclusivity and Experiments teams. This field holds special meaning for me, as I spent a lot of time in a university hospital growing up because of my mom’s work. It was there that I first encountered the word “cancer.” As a young boy, I was deeply shaken by the idea that a sudden illness could take someone’s life. From that moment on, I became interested in biology, determined to learn more about these illnesses and how they could be treated. When I learned about a team whose work aligned so closely with my passion, I was eager to join. I’m looking forward to everything we will learn and achieve through this competition!

Hello! My name is Aiden Park, and I’m a freshman at Korea International School, Pangyo. This is my first time joining the iGEM team, and I’m very excited to explore our project on multiple myeloma. I was about eight or nine years old when I first heard the word “cancer” at a summer camp—ironically one focused on astronomy. I was horrified by the idea that a disease starting from a single tiny cell could lead to the death of an entire human being. That moment sparked my interest in this field of science. Recently, I was introduced to this iGEM team and the topics they were exploring this year, and I am eager to learn as much as I can and take part in meaningful work alongside my teammates. I’m truly looking forward to the knowledge we’ll gain and the experiences we’ll share through this competition.

Hi! I’m Andrew. I joined this year’s iGEM competition because of my interest in biology and chemistry, and I’ve especially enjoyed exploring how these two fields intersect, particularly after taking organic chemistry, which I found both challenging and rewarding. Outside of academics, you’ll most likely find me playing sports like golf, tennis, and basketball, reading, or spending time with my cat since I’m a big cat person. I’m excited for my first iGEM experience and to work on our project in synthetic biology and cancer. As a member of Team Korea‑CX 2025, I hope to deepen my understanding of the topic, collaborate effectively with my teammates, and create meaningful memories along the way.

Hi! I’m Sihyun, currently a junior at Cheongshim International Academy and a proud member of the Korea‑CX iGEM team. This year, I am contributing to both the Inclusivity (Human Practices) and Experiments teams, roles that allow me to engage with synthetic biology through lab work and its social impact. Biology has not always been my main academic focus, but taking AP Biology and AP Environmental Science at school opened my eyes to how science can address real‑world problems such as sustainability and access to resources. That curiosity led me to iGEM. I joined because I wanted to explore these issues more deeply and be part of a team that values scientific innovation and meaningful outreach. As we work together this season, I am excited to keep learning, experimenting, and finding ways to make biology more inclusive and impactful both inside and outside the lab.
