Gabe Anoos
Hi! I am a graduating student at Catholic Central
High School, and I will be pursuing a degree in biomedical
sciences at the University of Calgary. I have been part of
the team since Grade 10, and I was initially drawn to join
due to the unique experiences the team had to offer. Since
joining, I have learned a great deal about research and various
aspects of science, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be
part of the team. My two pastimes are doomscrolling and bedrotting.

My name is Amira, I'm currently a grade 11 student at
Chinook High School. This is my first year in iGem.
I was drawn toward iGEM because of my interest in biology
and the want to meet people with similar interests.

My name is Ian and I am a grade 12 student at Winston Churchill High School. This is my second year on the iGEM team, and I initially joined iGEM because I was drawn towards the scientific aspect of it. Since joining, I have learnt a lot, especially about how complex a project is, and it has given me insight into areas I never thought would be part of a science competition. When not in school I enjoy driving and playing soccer.

Hi! My name is Anna and I am currently a grade 12 student at Catholic Central High. This is my first year in iGEM and I was initially drawn to iGEM because of my interest in synthetic biology and the experiences that would be beneficial for my future career in the sciences. I loved working and interacting with other peers that strengthened my knowledge even further. I am grateful for what I have learned in my journey. No matter how bad it is, I seem to be stuck bedrotting and doomscrolling through TikTok most of the day.

Hi my name is Elyse, I am in 12th grade at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute. I have been part of iGem for 2 years. I joined iGem because of my interest in biochemistry and genetic engineering. In my free time I enjoy playing my trombone and cello in various bands and orchestras.

This year was my first year in the iGem team and I was drew by the opportunities it offers and the benefits that boost my academic status. Finally, as an individual I like to play sports and music.

Hey! My name is Avinash, and I am a grade 10
student attending Winston Churchill High School.
This is my first year in iGEM, I joined just last
year in grade 9 for the awesome opportunity
presented to me in a field I hope to go into someday.
So far, this introductory period has been an amazing
experience for me. I’ve learned so much and I'm excited
to continue developing my skills with hopes to continue
next year and have a more direct presence in this amazing team!
Outside of iGEM, I enjoy hanging out with friends and playing
badminton at the YMCA.

My name is Charlotte and I am a grade 12 student from LCI and this is my first year as a part of iGEM. I joined iGEM because I was interested in learning more about the field of genetic engineering and some friends who are members had said they had a great time as part of the group. Something about me is that I love to read to pass the time.

My name is Nora Laird, and I am currently in twelfth grade. This is my second year on the Lethbridge High School iGEM team, and I continue to greatly enjoy the experience. I value iGEM because it helps me to strengthen my skills and build confidence in my abilities as a scientist. I am proud of my role on the team and the opportunity it provides to collaborate and contribute to meaningful scientific work. I spend my spare time scrapbooking, camping, and spending time with my friends, family, and golden retriever Clover.

I was drawn into IGEM from the many exhilarating stories
I was told by previous members. I love community service
so much and I founded the Chinook Highschool Interact Club.
I'm a huge bookworm and I enjoy meeting with friends
during my free time or filling it with loads of extracurriculars.

My name is Agrim, I am in 11th grade,
attending Lethbridge Collegiate Institute. I am apart of the iGem,
currently in my first year with them! What initially sparked my
interest within iGem was due to my family friends who have
been a part of the program in the past. They intrigued me,
and advised me to try something new. Some cool fun facts
about myself is that I love to go to the gym, and that
I also plan to have an esport career in university, potentially
within the medical department!

This is my first year in iGem and I chose to join
primarily because my friends forced me to try it out but
additionally because this field of science seemed super
cool. I have learned so much and am so lucky to have an
awesome team to work with! When I am not being an evil genius,
I like to watch tv and begin writing books and scripts
that I never finish.
