Andrea Qian Lei
Hi everyone! I'm Andrea Lei, a rising junior from Shanghai High School International Division. If you don't see me reading or studying, I'm most likely dancing, drawing, or doing experiments in the lab. My academic interests are vast, comprising law, physics, bioethics, and many more, but I am most passionate about the intricacies and evolutionary mechanisms behind the very blueprint of our lives, our DNA. Through iGEM, I hope to not only gain more experience by working mostly in the wet lab, but also experience in more depth-utilizing biology as a tool for potential solutions to a personal struggle of mine: experiencing adverse reactions to consuming milk or dairy products.
Jiaxuan He
I am Jiaxuan (Tony) He, a sixteen year old teenager devoted to using synthetic biology. Being an enthusiast in this realm, I want to dedicate my own efforts, exploring the unknown and changing the world in this century of biology. iGEM is a great experience for me, as it gives me an opportunity to immerse myself in lab work, develop skills for design and engineering, and train my collaboration and cooperation. Besides biology, I also like learning history very much. As for sports, I play table tennis frequently, also watching matches of professional players at a great rate. However, it is still biology and especially synthetic biological engineering that I like the most, so joining the iGEM team and immersing myself in the project was an unforgettable experience.

Yixin Chen
I’m Yixin (Cindy) Chen, and I believe that a love for biology is equatable to a love for life itself and for understanding oneself. As a member of my iGEM team, I am drawn to synthetic biology for its power to uncover hidden mechanisms in nature and to design solutions that improve quality of life. This year’s project holds special significance for me: I have personally experienced the discomfort of lactose intolerance, which is the focus of our work. Exploring the biochemical pathways behind this condition not only deepens my scientific curiosity but also strengthens my connection to my own body. For me, iGEM is not just about engineering biology — it’s about transforming personal challenges into opportunities for discovery and innovation.

Hi, everyone! I'm Jessie (Yunuo) Hou, a rising Grade 11 student from Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute. I am absolutely thrilled to join the iGEM wet lab team. Being in the lab lets me dive into my love for biology. iGEM is the perfect place for me to pick up lab skills, dive deeper into synthetic biology and brainstorm with teammates who love science as much as I do. I'm already in my element designing experiments and I am trying out fresh new techniques. Outside the lab, I'm all about staying active, with swimming taking the top prize for favorite sport. I can't wait to add a splash of design, mix in a pinch of creativity, and soak up all the wisdom from the project and my awesome teammates. I believe this experience is and will always be one of the most unforgettable memories I have.
Ruixuan Wu
Hey everyone! I am Ruixuan (Celina) Wu and always feel free to call me Celina. Currently I'm studying in Hefei Kangqiao International School, preparing for entering Grade 11 next semester. I document experiments with the enthusiasm of someone who still believes the PCR machine likes them (spoiler: it doesn't), and the precision of a person who has learned—the hard way—that unlabeled tubes are just tiny tragedies waiting to happen. I've got an eagle eye for details (mostly to spot my own mistakes) and the courage to try new protocols (or as I call it, 'controlled chaos'). Thrilled to be here, where every failed experiment is just a plot twist in my scientific character arc!
CHIN-TUNG WONG
Hi! I'm Chloe Wong. I come from Taiwan, and I've always been drawn to the mysteries of veterinary science and animal anatomy. The way veterinary science can decode animals' silent pain and bring them back to health, and the way animal anatomy lets you know each organ and cell works in perfect harmony, like a well-designed machine. I've always found it fascinating since I was a kid. When I'm not nerding out over biology, I love capturing nature's beauty through photography and hiking to spot unique species in the wild. And honestly I'm thrilled to be a member of this team. Working alongside all of you to explore, learn, and maybe even make a little biotech magic. It feels like a dream. Let's dive in and make something amazing together!
