TEAM MEMBER
Team leader-Chu Yuqing
Hi! I’m Rita, the leader of our iGEM team. I’m currently a G2 student at UCS. When I’m not busy troubleshooting PCR or designing experiments, I’m probably overthinking our next presentation slide—or convincing myself that failed experiments are just “unexpected results.” I love video editing, and outside the lab, I’m known for finding creative ways to procrastinate while always meeting deadlines. I’m excited to see where science (and our team) will take us next!
Team leader-Du Xiaowei
Hi there! My name is Daisy Du, an amateur biologist with a passion for the field. I love conducting biological experiments in my free time—cultivating bacteria is particularly fascinating. Feeding the bacteria I’ve grown gives me a strong sense of satisfaction. I hope to pursue a career in science in the future. Beyond lab work, I’ve learned a great deal by exploring new areas and collaborating with team members. This experience has been a chance to develop practical skills and interdisciplinary research capabilities. Our iGEM team doesn’t separate dry and wet lab tasks; instead, we work together on all responsibilities. I believe we’re a united team, and I hope we’ll have wonderful experiences and outcomes!
Team Advisor-Chen Xinyi
Hello everyone! My name is Chen Xinyi, and I’m currently an 11th-grade student at Ulink College of Shanghai. It’s my great honor to serve as the advisor for the 2025 iGEM team. In 2024, I had the privilege of leading our school’s iGEM team as captain, and I’m excited to stay involved in this incredible competition. I’m passionate about biology and plan to pursue it in my future studies. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing badminton and listening to music, which helps me stay balanced and focused. As the advisor for the 2025 team, I wish everyone the best on this exciting journey—may hard work and creativity lead to success!
Li Yuelin
Hello! I’m Yuelin Li from Ulink College of Shanghai, and you can call me Lareina. I’m an extroverted, creative, and somewhat humorous 10th-grade student who loves biology and psychology. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in this competition with my teammates! In my free time, I enjoy drawing and designing, so I’m responsible for bringing our team’s imaginative ideas to life, like creating our team logo and cartoon characters. Most importantly, I love discussing our project with my friends, and we’re confident that we’ll succeed both in developing our abilities and strengthening our team collaboration!
Wang Ziming
Hello! I’m Ziming Wang from Ulink College of Shanghai. It’s a great pleasure to join iGEM and meet such enthusiastic, talented teammates. My interest in biology emerged recently, sparked by diving into the chemical structures of biological molecules. I particularly enjoy watching short videos about the mechanisms of organic molecule reactions. Our team’s passion gives me confidence that we’ll complete our project perfectly. This experience will be unforgettable, and I believe our efforts will lead to excellent results.
Pan Zhizhen
Hello! I’m Zhizhen Pan from Ulink College of Shanghai. I feel incredibly fortunate to participate in the iGEM competition and meet everyone on this team. I’ve been interested in biology for a long time, but this is my first experience with a competition like this. No matter the outcome, I’ll be grateful for everything this experience brings. In my free time, I enjoy sports and following anime series, but I spend most of my energy striving to surpass my twin brother in every aspect of life. I’ll work hard to achieve this goal until it’s taken for granted that I’m better than him.
Qian Yangxinyue
I’m Ruby from Ulink College of Shanghai. As an ENTP, my mind is always full of creative, unconventional ideas. Music helps me unwind—nothing beats a good playlist after a long day in the lab. But above all, my greatest passion is biology, especially the mysteries of life and the endless possibilities of scientific discovery. That’s why I plan to apply for biomedical sciences programs in the future. Being part of Papaya Potion in iGEM has been an incredible journey, allowing me to collaborate with a dedicated team, contribute to innovative research, and grow both academically and personally. I’m excited to see where this journey takes us!
Yang Xinheng
Hi, I’m Jerry Yang from Ulink College Shanghai. My motto is: “Enjoy the present, go with the flow, and stay adaptable at all times.” I enjoy sports—particularly badminton and football—as a way to relax. I’m also deeply interested in biology and chemistry, and eager to explore their practical applications through hands-on projects. I’m excited to join Papaya Potion and collaborate with my teammates on a meaningful project. Participating in the iGEM competition will not only help me improve my experimental skills but also deepen my understanding of synthetic biology. I’m looking forward to contributing to the team and making the most of this amazing learning experience!
Zhang Xiyue
Hello! I’m Zhang Xiyue from Ulink College of Shanghai. It’s an honor to join the iGEM competition and meet such helpful friends. I plan to major in biochemistry in the future, and I find lab work incredibly enjoyable—I get completely immersed in experiments when I’m in the lab. My interest in biology began at age 7, when I watched a video about genes. I thought, “Being a scientist would be so cool!” In my free time, I love playing football and running around the field. I strongly believe our team has incredible cohesion, and we’ll achieve fantastic results. I’ll dedicate myself to this goal and work hard to make it happen!
Bao Lingxi
Hi everyone! I’m Isabella from Ulink College of Shanghai. My MBTI is ISFP. I’m not the most outgoing person, but I love learning new things and having new experiences by talking to different people. In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music (especially K-pop!), and spending time outdoors. I love biology and hope to study life sciences in depth at university, then work in a related field after graduation. It’s a real privilege to be part of the iGEM team, and I’ll do my best to contribute to this project!
Feng Weiya
Hi! I’m Feng Weiya from UCS. Since I was young, I’ve been interested in biology and hoped to use the knowledge and skills I’ve gained through my studies to contribute to society someday. In my free time, I enjoy playing badminton, ice skating, building Legos, and diving. I joined the iGEM team to apply and strengthen my skills in experiments, research, planning, and more. What fascinates me is the process of turning a whimsical idea into an actual product that could be sold worldwide. I’m grateful for the chance to join Papaya Potion and hope everyone on the team enjoys this experience, no matter the results!
