Drylab Description
Overview
Our Drylab component transforms the LEGO gene therapy system into a practical, user-centric platform through integrated software and hardware. Its core concept is to establish a closed-loop framework that enables precise, personalized, and clinically viable application of the LEGO system by seamlessly integrating computational dose calculation with programmable hardware control.
Software
The Software DiaPlan functions as an intelligent dose-calculation engine, converting patient-specific physiological parameters (e.g., body weight, dietary intake) into optimized therapeutic doses of insulin and GLP-1, which are then translated into recommended blue-light parameters.
Hardware
The Hardware DiaLight is a wearable, Wi-Fi-enabled, ESP32-based blue-light illumination device, designed to deliver fully customizable therapeutic regimens through programmable control of light intensity, duration and ON/OFF intervals.
Together, the Drylab (Software and Hardware) and the LEGO system form a synergistic cycle: users leverage the Software to flexibly compute and adjust treatment parameters, while the Hardware executes them to activate the LEGO system, thereby delivering combined glucose-lowering and weight-loss benefits.
Engineering
The development of our Drylab component adhered to the same rigorous engineering principles as our Wetlab work. These two distinct DBTL cycles describe the iterative development of the software and hardware that together form the critical control interface between the patient and the functionally validated LEGO system (Cycle 4 & 5).
