Meet Our Team

Overview

Our journey started with a question—was straw really worth recycling?

Many of us were skeptical at first, and the idea went through rounds of questioning, discussion, and refinement before becoming our shared direction. What connected us was both the goal of tackling agricultural waste and an equally strong passion for synthetic biology and its power to create change.Through this journey, we defined our project and grew together as a team.

Now, let's meet the people behind the project.

Hi, I'm Alice, a 9th-grade student at Shenzhen College of International Education. I love biology because it reveals life's inner workings—from tiny cells to complex systems. I'm a naturally curious and diligent person who thrives on solving problems collaboratively. My keen attention to detail is a real asset in experiments. I joined iGEM because it's the perfect platform to apply biology and create real-world solutions. It's the ultimate place for hands-on learning, teamwork, and channeling passion into action! I'm particularly excited to design projects that help people while contributing to our team's success. Let's make something amazing together!

Hi, I’m Bonica! I’m a grade 11 student in Canada who’s obsessed with figuring out how things work—whether it’s the tiny details in biology and chemistry or the big picture of how everything connects. When I’m not geeking out over science, you’ll probably find me outdoors—hiking, ice skating, or testing my limits on a rock wall. Indoors, I like experimenting in other ways too: baking (because chemistry is delicious (⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎)) and tinkering with small coding projects. Joining Links China, I’m excited to combine curiosity with teamwork, learn from my teammates, and see what awesome things we can achieve together!

Hi, I’m Helen. I’m deeply passionate about painting and artistic creation, and I love spending time in nature observing its wonders.
