Introduction

Inclusivity has been a core principle embedded throughout the design and execution of our project. While centered on the aerospace field, we are committed to Expand the scope of application, striving to transform its outcomes into valuable resources for global sharing. We actively engage with communities, holding face-to-face discussions with diverse groups to incorporate a wide range of perspectives, thereby continuously enriching the project’s social relevance. In team building, we bring together members from various disciplines and backgrounds. By valuing all voices, we ensure the project balances innovation with diversity and practicality, ultimately extending its benefits to a broader audience.

From Space-Exclusive to Globally Shared

Our project holds significant promise for supporting the establishment of long-term space habitats and enabling sustainable operations in space. Furthermore, it also has wide-ranging applications on Earth—particularly in addressing the urgent challenges. Traditional livestock farming, the dominant source of protein today, is increasingly threatened by extreme heat, cold waves, desertification, and other environmental pressures. In contrast, our product is manufactured and processed within a closed-loop system that operates independently of land and climate. Moreover, our closed-loop in-situ α-Lactalbumin production system is immune to disease outbreaks.

An Inclusive Source of Nutritional Supplementation

The core component of our product is human-source lactalbumin, which offers not only nutritional superiority but also cultural inclusivity. Produced through microbial fermentation, the protein is free from antibiotic contaminants. As a non-animal-derived protein, it accommodates vegetarian dietary requirements and is fully compliant with Halal standards, making it suitable for populations with specific protein preferences. The product takes the form of compressed protein supplement tablets, each with a precise and consistent dosage, designed for convenience and portability in daily use.

A Diverse and Co-creative Team

Our team has always treated inclusivity as a central value. We have actively recruited talent from different faculties, capitalizing on their expertise to foster success.

Wet lab work was led by students from the School of Biology and Biological Engineering, with substantial support from members of the School of Materials Science and Engineering. Dry lab activities benefited from contributions by students from the School of Future Technology and the School of Software Engineering, who developed accurate mathematical models. In addition, students from the School of Design produced the team’s Wiki interface, promotional videos, and visual materials, significantly elevating the project’s presentation.

By breaking down interdisciplinary barriers and promoting collaboration, we have effectively combined diverse strengths and build a solid foundation for the project’s progress.
