Cao Jia Hao
Hi everyone! My name is Cao JiaHao, but you can also call me Daniel. I’m really glad to be the team leader of our iGEM team this year. I’m originally from Hong Kong, China, and I’m currently a 10th-grade student at Allendale Columbia School in Rochester, NY. I’m especially passionate about Biology and Chemistry, which is one of the main reasons I joined iGEM. Being part of this team has been an incredibly valuable experience. I’ve had the opportunity to participate in experiments I wouldn’t normally get to do during the school year, and I’ve learned how to design, plan, and carry them out—deepening my interest in science and research. Looking ahead, I’m interested in majoring in Biology or Biochemistry, with the goal of becoming a doctor. iGEM has helped me take meaningful steps toward that path by giving me real-world experience in scientific thinking and problem-solving. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing tennis and reading science fiction—especially The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin and Foundation by Isaac Asimov—which fuel my curiosity about science and the unknown.
