 Overview

The catalog of TJUSLS_China in 2025 includes 40 new fundamental components and X improved parts. All components comply with the RFC[10] or RFC[1000] standard, have been functionally tested and recorded in the registry for community use.

 New basic parts

We conducted enzyme activity tests using an orthogonal experimental design on the 40 protein sequences mined from an ocean database. Among them, we found that four proteins exhibit PET-degrading enzyme activity under certain conditions.

* Due to its relatively low melting temperature (Tm), the enzymatic activity of B8 decreases sharply with temperature changes. Consequently, its optimal NaCl concentration and optimum temperature were not determined in the experiment.

The remaining 36 protein sequences (mined from marine metagenomic data) show potential PET-degrading activity based on sequence homology and structural prediction. These sequences have been registered in the iGEM registry and are pending further functional verification.
