Overview
Just as the sea god symbolized by our project name PROTEUS, our project itself is equally versatile and elusive. Beyond the advancements and benefits brought by PROTEUS, this technology also harbors certain security concerns. Through our HP-4R cycle, we have gained a profound understanding of the significant impact of AI on biosafety. Therefore, in addition to conventional laboratory safety protocols, BIT-LLM has re-examined the implications of AI in biosafety and compiled this manual on AI and biosafety by consulting relevant references. Furthermore, during the HP-4R cycle, we recognized that safety is also reflected in how we proactively identify, manage, and govern the novel societal and ethical risks that may arise. Thus, we have deeply integrated the concept of safety into every aspect of our Human Practices.
