Sijia Yang (杨思嘉)

Captain

Science classes have always been interesting to me since middle school. Consequently, I have developed a profound interest in biology and chemistry. Over the summer, spending time in the lab increased my affinity as I was able to explore, learn, and use different tools. I have become familiar with tools commonly employed in biological laboratories, such as pipettes, magnetic stirrers, and gel electrophoresis equipment. During my involvement in the iGEM initiative, I not only fulfilled the responsibilities of conducting interviews with human practices, team logo designing, team wiki establishing, and promotion video making, but also actively engaged in the experimental phase, where I gained the most. I deeply appreciate the learning opportunities offered. I aspire to persist in exploring my interests in this field.

Mingyue Hu (胡茗月)

Student Leader

Big fan of biology and immunology specifically. A guy who hopes for the best and prepares for the worst.

Yanze Wu (吴彦泽)

Student Leader

Hi, I’m Andrew! I’m sophomore interested in genetics, and this is my first year in iGEM. I was born in Hong Kong, then moved to Shanghai when I was 7. Now, I attend boarding school in Exeter, New Hampshire. Outside of school, I love swimming, playing water polo, reading, travelling, and cooking. Joining iGEM allowed me to learn more about biology and apply my interviewing skills.

Yihan Jing (经逸菡)

Student Leader

With a keen interest in biotechnology, I've been actively involved in the iGEM competition. My roles included analyzing case studies of past teams, conducting background research on DNA synthesis, managing project administration, and ensuring the quality of our promotional content. I also documented our lab work, engaged with the public on synthetic biology, and contributed to writing our Human Practice pages.

Yuchen Zhang (张宇辰)

Hi, you can also call me Evan. As a high school student in Sendelta International Academy in Shenzhen, China, I am very passionate about the subject of Biology. I like neuroscience and genes, and I think Biology will have further applications to solve serious issues in this world. I am also looking forward to the experience of IGEM.

Xizun Tang (汤熙尊)

I am a senior high student and is one of the group members. I have done relative topic in biological study, talking about how to use Chinese traditional medicine to cure or release body's pain. In the future, I want to apply for major of anthropology and social study. Also, through attending iGEM, I want to learn some deeper knowledge in this field.

Yujing Wang

Hey, I'm Selina. Through iGEM, I hope to learn more about synthetic biology and apply programming and mathematics to practical use. Hope having a wonderful iGEM experience!

Baiting Song

Hey guys! In AP and competition courses in high school, I systematically learned basic knowledge such as cell biology and genetics, which inspired my interest in Biology. I‘m really looking forward to having a great experience in IGEM.

Yiyi Xu

Hi, my friends often call me Dragana. My passions are deeply rooted in biology, environmental science, and neuroscience, but my love for dance also plays a significant role in shaping who I am.

Zhichen Xue

My interests are deeply rooted in biodiversity conservation, marine biology, and plant physiology, but my love for conducting field surveys in wetlands also plays a key role in forging who I am.

Team Supervisors

ZHENQIANG SUN (孙振强)

Primary PI, mainly responsible for: progress-management, dry-experiments, wiki, etc.

I have been a science and engineering guy who loves programming since I was a child. I am a contradiction in that I love traveling and staying at home. In this iGEM project, I am very pleased to see that our team members are actively taking on the tasks specified by iGEM and advancing the progress of the tasks in an orderly manner. I am also very honored to provide necessary help to students when they encounter problems. I hope that our team members can see a broader world of synthetic biology through the telescope of iGEM.

Ziyan Shi (时子延)

Secondary PI, mainly responsible for: task-allocation, deliverables-reminder, external-communications, etc.

Hello everyone. I'm one of the instructors on the team. My main responsibilities include liaising with each student to confirm their task assignments, monitor their work progress, and verify their current situation. I’m quite pleased with this group of students—they are diligent, intelligent, and highly responsive in their interactions. Each student contributes unique perspectives, enabling us to accomplish our tasks more quickly and to a higher standard. I also have high hopes for us to secure positive results in this endeavor.

Jing Zhao (赵静)

Instructor, mainly responsible for: material-management, wet-experiments, materials-review, etc.

Hello everyone, I am a doctoral student at the School of Life Sciences of Nanjing University. I am very honored to lead our excellent team members to participate in this year's iGEM competition. I led the team members to conduct experiments in the biological laboratory and assisted the team members in filling out and submitting various materials. I hope that our team members can study hard and achieve greater academic success in the future.

Nuo Zhang (张诺)

Instructor, mainly responsible for: material-management, wet-experiments, etc.

Hello, everyone. I am one of the teachers in this team. I am mainly responsible for communicating with each student and confirming their division of labor, progress and status. I am very happy that the students I met this time are diligent and smart, and they are also very active in communication. Everyone can bring us new perspectives, allowing us to complete the task faster and better. I also hope that we can achieve good results this time.
