Safety is both the fundamental premise and core goal of our experiments and project design, especially for our intestinal microbial drug production where human health and product therapeutic efficacy are at stake, thus strict adherence to safety protocols throughout the entire experimental process is imperative.
To this end, we have conducted comprehensive assessments of the entire process from multiple dimensions, including Human Practices & Education, Laboratory safety, Policy compliance, Project design on Safety, which enables us to develop our system, referred to as "HELPPS".
Implanting safety awareness deeply in every researcher's cognition and operations, ensuring safety from the source, and implementing supervision and protective measures throughout the process—these efforts allow for the safe gene editing of Escherichia coli and its safe application in the management and treatment of human obesity. This is precisely the original aspiration and mission of GlucoXpert.
For more information on the biosafety-related considerations of HiZJU-China, please refer to the questionnaire survey, biosafety assessment part in our Human Practices Page, and verification results of project engineering iterations, to ensure that the principle of "safety first" is adhered to throughout our entire process.
Safety is by no means a trivial matter. Only when every individual internalizes safety awareness in their minds and translates it into tangible actions can we apply synthetic biology in compliance with regulations to transform real-world application scenarios, advancing long-term human health and sustainable societal progress.
Moving forward, building on the "HELPPS" system, we will consistently refine safety protocols to safeguard and support students' future research careers.
