Meet our supporters.
The Center Synthetic Genomics creates interdisciplinary platforms where scientists and students can connect, collaborate, and share knowledge. With offices in Heidelberg, Karlsruhe, and soon Mainz, SynGen fosters an open community that sparks fresh ideas and drives innovative research. Particularly, the initiative aims to advance the cutting-edge field of synthetic genomics by combining expertise in life sciences, molecular systems engineering, and biomedical research. We would like to thank Center SynGen for their generous financial support!
We would like to sincerely thank the Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung for their generous financial support. Their commitment to advancing science and education has helped pursue our research with creativity and ambition. Since 2007 they supported over 1,000 scientific projects, ranging from mathematics, technology and computer science to natural sciences. We are truly grateful for their trust in our work and for enabling us to take important steps on our journey!
Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU), founded in 1477, is one of Germany’s most diverse universities, bringing together people, ideas, and disciplines. Named after Johannes Gutenberg, the inventor of modern printing, the university carries his spirit of innovation into science and research today. With its strong culture of collaboration and creativity, JGU offers an inspiring environment where students and researchers can grow, share knowledge, and explore new paths in science. We are truly grateful to our university for their generous financial support and for giving us the possibility to represent the university at the Grand Jamboree in Paris!
Xyna.bio is an innovative platform that advances synthetic biology by connecting students, researchers, and entrepreneurs to share ideas and develop new solutions. With its strong focus on collaboration and real-world applications, Xyna.bio creates a unique space where creativity and cutting-edge science come together. We are especially grateful to Xyna.bio for their travel grant, which gives our team the opportunity to take part in the Grand Jamboree in Paris!
BACIP (Bacillus industrial platform) is dedicated to strengthening the life sciences community by supporting students and researchers in their scientific journeys. Through its commitment to collaboration and innovation, BACIP helps create opportunities where young scientists can connect, learn, and grow. We are very thankful to BACIP for their financial support!
Cultivarium provides open-source tools focusingon uncharacterized microorganisms, including molecular and computational tools for facilitating genetic engineering. Together with ATCC they support several iGEM teams in this year, to encourage the use of non-model microorganisms and to invest on future-oriented ideas. We would like to thank Cultivarium for the financial support!
ATCC (American Type Culture Collection) provides high-quality biological products, model systems and services encouraging groundbreaking research in medical topics such as drug discovery, public health or translational medicine. Together with Cultivarium, they support several iGEM teams this year to support the next generation of scientists. Thank you to ATCC for supporting our team financially!
VAAM (Vereinigung für Allgemeine und Angewandte Mikrobiologie) is an association of over 3,000 scientists with interest in microbiology. Its goal is to connect researchers in the field of microbiology with one another and exchange new findings to apply for the well-being of environment and society. Thank you to the VAAM for supporting us financially!
Mainz is the capital city of Rhineland-Palatinate, it is near the Rhine and a student city. Over 200,000 people live there. It is famous for its carnival tradition and the invention of modern printing by Johannes Gutenberg. At the moment, the city is realizing plans for a biotech campus near the university to boost the biotechnology sector and affirm the city of Mainz as location for biotechnological research. Our team wants to thank the city of Mainz for their financial support!
Sparkasse Rheinhessen is a financial institution in the area of Worms and Mainz in Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse. They have a long tradition of supporting local communities, education, and innovation. By investing in young people and their ideas, Sparkasse Rheinhessen helps create opportunities that inspire growth and development. We are very thankful for their financial support!
