Taketo Ota

Mayu Kataoka

She travels in search of good coffee. She is very passionate about coffee, with a passion for coffee beans and an ambition to improve her latte art. She is likely to open a coffee shop in the near the future. At first glance, she seems to have a quiet personality, but her outlandish comments and actions are often observed. Even the leader said 'Mayu says strange things sometimes,don't you?'. She has always said that she does not want to dye her hair, but it seems that she has been dying his hair little by little recently. I would like to see more bizarre colors to create a flashy hair army in the igem Kyoto team.

Hashimoto

He is the leader of the Dry department and has a dry personality. He is a military strategist of the team who goes to work when his team is in a pinch. He is prepared for jet lag and often wakes up at 3:00 in the afternoon. He loves mathematics and programming, and organizes independent mathematics seminars, and is looking forward to having more independent seminars after iGEM is over.

Nishida

She's an entrepreneur who founded a cooking club. She's a very active person, balancing a tea ceremony club and part-time jobs, but she tends to over-schedule herself, sometimes leading to overwhelm and burnout! Also, since she's a beginner in biology, she apparently struggles to keep up with conversations in that field.

Nishizaka

Despite being a physics student with no biology background, he's actively working hard on iGEM activities. As a pharmacy student, he's a junior of former leader Kiriyama. He played table tennis in high school but gave up sports to join iGEM. His hobby is gaming, particularly Puzzle & Dragons.

Nitta

She is the ace among the first-year students on our team. Tirelessly tackling even the most difficult research tasks, she not only delivers both quality and quantity, but also supports her teammates generously. Her contributions are truly invaluable. Despite being such a "super freshman," she sometimes surprises us in the best way. For example, one day she casually said, “It’s no big deal to walk to Kyoto Station from here, right?” That kind of remark makes everyone pause—but it's all part of her unique charm.

Ogawa

Oka

He's a biophysics-loving undergraduate science student with a passion for sake and sweets. As the researcher on his team, he's also dedicated to his personal research, aiming to publish a paper as the lead author before he graduates. His one wish is that Japan's four seasons would disappear and be replaced by a perpetual winter.

Okayama

He is a key member of the dry team, contributing to modeling by applying his physics knowledge. Unusually for the team, he possesses common sense and can build good relationships with anyone. His special talent is solving Rubik's cubes in under 40 seconds.

Wakita

A first-year Engineering (Informatics) student in the Tanka Poetry Club and Heimat Choir. An eloquent speaker who boldly voices his opinions. While his academic diligence may be questionable, he puts tremendous effort into his interests. Fluent in multiple languages including English and Chinese, he's an ideal international citizen. Despite struggling with biological background knowledge due to his physics-chemistry high school focus, he supports iGEM by handling wiki creation.

Sakurai

He is incredibly knowledgeable for a first-year student, and whenever we ask him questions, he always responds kindly. The other members count on him, but he also has a great sense of humor. He often makes everyone laugh with funny stories and jokes. Although he's not old enough to drink alcohol, he once made us laugh by jokingly recommending wine to us.
