Qingxuan Lan Leader Hello, I am Qingxuan Lan, a biochemistry enthusiast, and am also the team leader for this year. I was interested in all science subjects and art when I was young, and this interest has been maintained until now.The first time I encountered synthetic biology, I was thrilled by its wonderful and efficient nature—and that's why I joined the team. In our team, I focused on everyone’s experimental progress and communicated with them actively. I enjoyed the time with them and enjoyed dedicating myself to synthetic biology. I have designed many experimental procedures and been deeply involved in them.I am glad to be able to contribute my strength to this team. As I said, I am interested in biology and chemistry, and I hope iGEM is the fifirst step for me to use science to help society; there will be more and more such opportunities in the future.

Xintong Wang Student I am a student at SHSBNU, having an extremely high passion for life sciences and maintaining excellent academic performance in my courses. As a member of the experimental group of the iGEM team, I participated in the preliminary literature review for the project, systematically summarizing the current research status in related fields. Additionally, I am also a member of the experimental group in the team and have made my own contributions to the advancement of the experiments.
Jingcheng Xia Student My name is Jingcheng Xia. I am a cheerful and inclusive person. I like singing, and I am a member of the school chorus. I also like track and field. I enjoy participating in the sports meeting held by our school and winning prizes for our class. In addition, I am a member of our school’s student union. I am always striving for the rights and interests of students.
Haoyu Zhang Student Hello, I’m Haoyu Zhang. I’m passionate about biology, and I also have a strong interest in public health and anthropology. I enjoy exploring how scientific research connects with real human lives and communities. In our iGEM team, I actively participate in the experimental work, and hands-on research helps me better understand the logic and charm behind biology. I also enjoy teamwork and communication, and I like contributing ideas and supporting others during collaboration. Outside of academics, I love playing basketball, which has taught me cooperation and persistence. I also enjoy listening to music—mostly pop music. In the future, I hope to work in public health and medical anthropology, using science to understand and improve people’s lives. Being part of this team gives me valuable experience and has only deepened my enthusiasm for the field.

Tianxin Zhang Student My name is Tianxin Zhang. As the Human Practices (HP) Team Leader of SHSBNU iGEM, I oversee the integration of ethical, societal, and policy considerations into our synthetic biology research. Zitong Liang Student Hi, I'm Zitong Liang and you can call me Eric. I am a proud member of the SHSBNU iGEM team, where I focus on wet lab work. I have been fascinated by nature since childhood, and this curiosity has guided my interest in biology throughout my life. Exploring the wild and observing natural systems firsthand has shaped the way I approach scientific questions, inspiring me to understand the principles that govern life. At school, I actively engage in biology learning, participating in projects and discussions that deepen my understanding and allow me to contribute meaningfully to our team's research. Beyond the lab, I am passionate about sports and staying active. I enjoy running, cycling, and football, and I am a member of our school’s Rixin football team. I hold a gold medal in the 200-meter sprint, reflecting my commitment to perseverance and excellence both on and off the field. Zilong Han Student I am a student at the International Department of the Second Affiliated High School of Beijing Normal University, and I participate in the Synthetic Biology Club and iGEM activities. I like photography, animals, and plants (prolonged socializing makes me feel tired). I enjoy traveling in nature and using my camera to record memorable moments, so that I can recall those beautiful moments in a few years. Participating in iGEM has also enhanced my ability to communicate with others, enriched my subject knowledge, and given me more courage to face the world.
Meilun Kang Student Hello, my name is Meilun Kang, a member of the SHSBNU-China Synthetic Biology Club. I am intensely passionate about biology, genetic engineering and medicine. That is because I am always interested in figuring out how life works, how could human use biological techniques to make contribution to our society and how to save people’s lives from serious illnesses and prevent the spread of diseases. Since I am a resilient and very organized person, I am good at doing experiments; also, I have good communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility, therefore I am adept at doing human practice work and collaborate with other team members too. Through my experience in our international department’s IGEM team, I not only learned a lot of professional synthetic biology knowledge and experiment skills, but also realize the importance of innovation and team work, and these would all help me in my major learning and future career.
Jiaying Ge Student Jiaying Ge, born in June 2009 in Beijing, China, is currently studying at the International Division of the Second High School Attached to Beijing Normal University. In 2026, he served as the experimental team leader in the SHSBNU-China team. He has a wide range of hobbies and is particularly interested in the fields of engineering and biology. He has participated multiple times in various World Robot Contests and the Olympiad in Informatics. In this year's project, he was involved in multiple tasks such as plasmid design, experimental organization, and mechanical property testing, making significant contributions.

Xiaopei Wang Student Hi! My name is Xiaopei Wang, a high school student with an interest in biology, psychology, and science communication. In our SHSBNU-iGEM team, I mainly focus on Education (HP) works, where I design questionnaires to better understand public opinions, as well as sharing synthetic biology content on online platforms to make our project more accessible to the public. Outside of iGEM, I love exploring how science interacts with human behavior, and this passion also inspires my future plan of studying psychology and biology in college. I believe that iGEM is not just a competition, but also an excellent chance to learn from others and grow together as a team.

Qincong Liu Student Hello, I’m Qincong Liu from SHSBNU-China,you can also call me Daisy. I have a strong interest in synthetic biology and art, especially visual and graphic design. In this iGEM project, I serve as the head of the Art & Design team, responsible for designing the project logo, the wiki page layout, team uniforms, as well as promotional posters and animation for our project video. I hope to use my understanding of aesthetics to better convey the concept and promotion of our space gel product, adding artistic value to the project. Through this experience, I have also learned a lot of advanced biological knowledge and techniques, and I look forward to exploring and deepening my understanding of synthetic biology in the future.

Dongchuan Wang Advisor Hi, I’m Dongchuan Wang, an advisor of SHSBNU-China 2025 iGEM team. As one of the previous synthetic biology club presidents, I took part in the junior education and helped juniors to find their exclusive meaning of iGEM competition. As a biology lover, I explored the technique of using AlphaFold and MOE to do molecular docking and hosted a workshop for team members during this iGEM cycle. As a high school students, I like to play videogames; have four independent research experiences in synthetic biology, structural biology, and bioengineering; and have written a memoir with 234680 words. As one of the class presidents, I prepared mocktails, including mojito, Shirley Temple, and several kinds of milk tea in class parties and hosted class meetings.

Yifang Liu PI Second PI and Biology teacher of team SHSBNU_China. Graduated from Beijing Normal University, faculty of Education, and had majored in Biology at Wuhan University for four years. I'm Biology teacher with eight year's working experience in 2nd HS attached to Beijing Normal University, international division. Different students have different dreams, which urges us teachers to build different levels Biology Courses to meet the diversified learning demands from different students. From the genetic engineering experiment course to the preparation of iGEM competition, working together with my students is a challenge, as well as a happy thing. I’m so proud of my students.
Chuan Ni PI Primary PI of team SHSBNU-China, Biology teacher in the 2nd HS attached to Beijing Normal University, international division. Graduated from Beijing Normal University, College of Life Science, as a PhD in Ecology, Nick have 14 years’ experiences of Biology teaching in SHSBNU. Dedicating himself in creating different levels of Biology courses to fulfill demands of different students, Nick started building Biology courses form the Standard Level Biology (SLB), then the online Moodle version of SLB, and then Accelerated Biology Course (ABC) for enthusiastic students. Following ABC is the Honored Biology Course (HBC) and Genetic Engineering Experiments (GEE) for students who's willing to study further and deeper in Biology. These different levels of Biology Courses have prepared the students for international Biology contests like iGEM.
