Southwest University (Wang Jinjun Team) x SZU-China

Due to technical challenges in laboratory aphid breeding, we contacted Professor Wang Jinjun's team at Southwest University. With their profound expertise in the pathogenic mechanisms of the brown citrus aphid, Professor Wang's team provided us with a batch of live aphid samples suitable for laboratory cultivation. Additionally, we engaged in in-depth discussions with the team regarding the collection and cultivation of live samples.

Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences (Dr. Lai Duo) x SZU-China

Dr. Lai Duo, Associate Researcher at the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, is an expert in citrus fertilization and soil research. We obtained from him the modification method for Metarhizium and the engineered pBer vector.

HZAU-China x SZU-China

During the protein extraction and detection process in E. coli with the transformed plasmid, we failed to observe the target protein band. Therefore, we consulted HZAU-China, which has extensive experience in this field, and they provided us with the relevant plasmid.

BWYA x SZU-China

The discussion with BWYA centered on two projects: feline allergy treatment and citrus pest control, addressing common challenges such as experimental design, cost control, and delivery methods of RNA interference technology. This meeting provided us with a clearer understanding of the core challenges facing RNA interference technology in agricultural applications, including delivery methods, cost control, and regulatory compliance, while also offering direction for subsequent project optimization and translation.

BIT-LLM x SZU-China

To enhance the accuracy of our YOLOv-based visual recognition model and advance large-scale data transmission capabilities, we held extensive discussions with BIT-LLM, which possesses extensive experience in artificial intelligence and software development.

SDGs x SZU-China

We collaborated with multiple iGEM teams worldwide to co-author a series of Instagram articles addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, successfully completing the "Goal 15: Life on Land" topic.

ASU x SZU-China

We engaged in a cross-border collaboration with Arizona State University on an educational project to create multilingual children's books adaptable to diverse cultural contexts, thereby promoting scientific knowledge among young audiences across different linguistic groups.

UAM X SZU-China

In collaboration with UAM, we shared our team's experiences during the iGEM competition, detailing challenges encountered, solutions implemented, and preventive measures taken, to draft a practical guide for future iGEM teams.

《Smashing Synthetic Biology Rumours》Science Brochure

We collaborated with 33 iGEM teams, including CJUH-JLU-China, to co-author the popular science handbook "Debunking Synthetic Biology Myths," contributing to public awareness of synthetic biology scams and the advancement of this field.

Joint Online Lecture

We collaborated with six iGEM teams—including CSU, FUDA, SCAU, SUST, and ULINK—to conduct project exchanges. Through mutual Q&A sessions, we resolved outstanding issues within our respective projects and shared the outcomes of our iGEM initiatives with students from ULINK Education.

Lecture Series on Daily Necessities

Focusing on the four fundamental areas of life—clothing, food, housing, and transportation—we collaborated with multiple iGEM teams to organize the "Essentials of Life" lecture series in Shenzhen's Pingshan Community. During the sessions, we specifically centered on the "food" dimension to educate the public on the advantages and disadvantages of conventional chemical pesticides versus RNA-based biopesticides. To enhance engagement, we used a self-designed interactive game to deepen participants' understanding of biopesticides.

Han-Shan Normal University x SZU-China

We have taken into account the lack of conditions for synthetic biology research in some regional institutions. Leveraging our university’s "regional assistance" practical mission, we have established a collaboration with Han-Shan Normal University. We assist students at Han-Shan Normal University in mastering the theories of synthetic biology, engage in project discussions with them, and jointly complete related experiments.
