Bronze:
- 1. Competition deliverables: All the prerequisites of a complete iGEM project, including our wiki, presentation video, and judging form have been successfully submitted.
- 2. Attributions: Thanks for everyone’s hard work! Find more details on the Attributions page.
- 3. Contribution: We added characterization to part BBa_K4345007. We also added 6 new parts to the Registry. Find more information on the Find more information on the Contribution page.
Silver:
- 1. Engineering success: We successfully completely five cycles of DBTL. Find more information on the Engineering page.
- 2. Human practices: We visited a huge number of stakeholders of our project. Find more information on the Human Practices page.
Gold:
- 1. Best New Basic Part (Excellence in Synthetic Biology): We designed several expression systems for the kynureninase our host lab knew from an article published by Tripplet et al. After successfully constructing the expression strains and modified the protein, we carried out an enzyme activity test to confirm the ability of our enzyme to deplete kynurenine. We obtained that this modified kynureninase exhibited significantly enhanced catalytic efficiency. Therefore, we uploaded the sequence of this kynureninase to the Registry and use it as our best basic part. Find more information on the Registry
- 2. Education (Specializations): In terms of public science education, we have achieved the ultimate in breadth and depth, paying attention to the education of almost all groups of people, from young children to the elderly, from ordinary people to special groups. Our popular science content is professional and detailed, prepared in collaboration with industry experts, and has safeguards for special groups of people who are hearing and visually impaired. Find more information on the Education page.
- 3. Inclusivity (Specializations): In terms of inclusivity, our team has been engaging with minority groups such as subjects from remote areas and female scientists since the beginning of the project. As the project progressed, we interviewed more diverse interviewee and engaged in more in-depth and long-term acknowledge such as investigating environmental information’s influences on the interviewee’s health conditions. We reached out to more than 20 interviewees from all walks of life involved in the project. Through this, we have a full and confident understanding of the practical viability of a project today and in the future. Find more information on the Inclusivity page.
