Meet our team! These are the individuals who have contributed to our project in many different ways. We have three departments for Research, Software, and Science Communications.
Soumini Kandula
President, Research Lead
Hi! I'm Soumini, a junior at Del Norte High School and this year's President and Research Lead for our iGEM team. I love exploring synthetic biology beyond the classroom and guiding our project from idea to execution, from research and protocol design to lab work and data analysis. I've taken AP Biology and AP Chemistry, and it's exciting to apply what I've learned to real world research. Outside of iGEM, I enjoy reading, singing, and painting.
Aadi Bhat
Software Lead
Hi! I'm Aadi, a junior at Del Norte High School and a Student Leader on our iGEM team. I love combining coding and biology, and this year I worked on software, visualization, and wiki development by designing models and building tools for data analysis. I also developed a web app for cell identification and helped coordinate projects within the software team. Outside of iGEM, I enjoy coding, exploring new technologies, and creating projects just for fun.
Mithra Raj
Science Communications Lead
Hi! I'm Mithra, a junior at Del Norte High School and a Student Leader on our iGEM team. This year, I helped develop teaching curriculum for children, presented at outreach events, and gathered data for our Human Practices work. I also helped organize fundraising and advertising, and created surveys on acne awareness. I've always loved science and enjoy exploring how it connects to the community. In my free time, I like listening to music and playing the guitar.
Eshika Pallapotu

Hi! My name is Eshika Pallapotu, and I'm a senior at Del Norte High School. This is my second year in iGEM, and I joined again because I wanted to take on new challenges and explore a different role compared to last year. iGEM has been such a rewarding experience, and my favorite part this year has been mentoring younger members and watching them grow and overcome obstacles as a team. It's been amazing to see how much everyone has learned and accomplished together. Outside of iGEM, I enjoy reading and listening to music in my free time.
Ananya Rajendrababu

Hi! I'm Ananya, a junior at Del Norte High School, and this is my first year in iGEM. I helped with background research, project brainstorming, lab protocol development, and organizing Human Practices meetings. iGEM has been an amazing way to explore my love for science and research. Outside of iGEM, I enjoy archery, marching and playing my flute. I also play with my dog.
Rayna Lee

Hi! My name is Rayna Lee, and I'm a junior at Del Norte High School. This is my first year in iGEM, and I joined because of my passion for biology and medicine, as well as what I've learned in AP Biology. I love going to the lab, learning new techniques, and meeting all the amazing mentors who guide us through our research. Outside of iGEM, I enjoy soap-carving and fishing in my free time. I'm excited to keep learning and contribute to our team's success this year!
Aarya Adusumilli

Hi! I'm Aarya, a junior at Del Norte High School, and this is my first year in iGEM. I've contributed to background research, lab work, and data analysis, as well as helped design our wiki and create communication materials to share our project. Being part of iGEM has deepened my love for biology and shown me how science can be applied to solve real-world problems. I hope to pursue a career in medicine in the future. Outside of iGEM, I enjoy dancing, cooking, and ice sculpting.
Aashni Katari

Hi! My name is Aashni Katari, and I'm a junior at Del Norte High School. This is my second year in iGEM, and I joined because I'm passionate about STEM and hope to pursue a career in biology in the future. I love being part of a team that combines science and creativity to make a real impact on the world. One of my favorite parts of iGEM is working on the graphic design for our wiki and project videos, where I get to bring our research to life visually. Outside of iGEM, I enjoy learning about psychology, dancing, and reading in my free time.
Dhyan Soni

Hi! My name is Dhyan Soni, and I'm a sophomore at Del Norte High School. This is my first year in iGEM, and I joined because I enjoy coding and have experience in cybersecurity, which sparked my interest in applying programming to biology. I've really liked learning how coding connects to synthetic biology and contributes to our project. My favorite part of iGEM is working on the coding and technical aspects while also collaborating and hanging out with the other team members. Outside of iGEM, I love to play basketball, go on runs, and watch cute animal videos.
Arnav Pallapotu

Hi! I'm Arnav, a sophomore at Del Norte High School, and this is my first year in iGEM. I helped with wiki development by writing and formatting content, designing pages, and assisting with modeling and dry lab work. I've always loved coding, and iGEM has been a great way to apply those skills to biology and research. Outside of iGEM, I enjoy reading and playing the piano and alto sax.
Samridh Madhavarao

Hi! My name is Samridh Madhavarao, and I'm a junior at Del Norte High School. This is my first year in iGEM, and I joined because of my strong interest in biology and the background I've built through AP Biology and Science Olympiad. iGEM has been an amazing way to apply what I've learned to real-world research and explore the connections between science and community impact. My favorite part of iGEM has been teaching kids during our outreach events and inspiring them to get curious about synthetic biology. Outside of iGEM, I enjoy gardening and playing the violin, both of which let me relax and be creative.
Sarvajh Nadadur

Hi! I'm Sarvajh, a sophomore at Del Norte High School, and this is my first year participating in iGEM. I helped write and present curriculum for our outreach events at the local library, contributed visuals for our promotional video, and conducted background research on inflammation for our Human Practices work. I've always loved science and enjoy sharing it with others, especially younger students. I hope to pursue a career in biology in the future, and I love how iGEM has allowed me to explore science in such a hands-on way.

Hi! My name is Ashwin Vadi, and I'm a sophomore at Del Norte High School. This is my first year in iGEM, and I joined because of my interest in biology and my experience from school and science fairs. I've really enjoyed learning more about synthetic biology and collaborating with my teammates on our project. My favorite part of iGEM has been creating the project videos and helping bring our ideas to life visually. Outside of iGEM, I like to swim and feed pigeons in my free time.

I helped write scripts and edit our promotional video, created curriculum and provided materials for outreach events, and designed a survey to study the impact of acne. iGEM has been a great way to combine creativity and science while connecting with the community. Outside of iGEM, I enjoy listening to music and playing tennis.
