Risk Identification

• SDS: irritating detergent; avoid inhalation and skin contact.
• Selection antibiotics (e.g., Zeocin): handle with care; avoid exposure.
• Volatile/corrosive solvents (e.g., phenol:chloroform when applicable): toxic and corrosive.

Mitigation Measures

• Use specialized PPE: chemical-resistant gloves, masks/respirators as needed, and face shields for splash risk.
• Perform procedures with volatile/toxic reagents in ventilated cabinets or fume hoods.
• Have chemical spill kits available; follow spill response protocols.

Storage and Disposal

• Store according to compatibility and hazard class; label clearly.
• Dispose of chemical waste in segregated, labeled containers for external management.
