Team Banner IISER-Berhampur - iGEM 2025

Our outreach and communication efforts spanned schools, villages, and public spaces — aiming to make synthetic biology understandable and meaningful to every age group. Through visual storytelling, contextual education, and active dialogue, we turned scientific understanding into collective awareness.

  1. Education — Custom TLMs and interactive models for students, focusing on heavy metal contamination and biological remediation.
  2. Women in Science — Spotlighting women’s representation in STEM, starting from VV Giri Girls’ High School and through our team’s women-led foundation.
  3. Thematic Venn — Integrating scientific, environmental, and social perspectives into a single interpretive visualization.
  4. Zonal Studies — Regional engagement across Odisha, revealing varying perceptions of contamination and industrial impact.
  5. Community Dialogues — Direct interactions with our communities, local residents, panchayats, and stakeholders to share findings, gather feedback, and co-design interventions.
  6. Challenges and Triggers — Barriers, motivations, and insights drawn from community and expert feedback.
  7. Goals and Interventions — Translating science communication into actionable governance and participatory frameworks.
