WANG YUECHEN
"My name is Yuechen Wang, a 16-year-old student from Shanghai United International School (Sanlin Campus). I have a strong passion for science, particularly biology, and have dedicated myself to both academic and artistic pursuits. With 14 years of painting experience and 8 years of Latin dance training, I deeply appreciate the arts and serve as the lead art director for this research journey.
My fascination with biology began in elementary school while reading encyclopedias. From gazing through a simple microscope at age eight to developing an unwavering love for medicine, my curiosity has continually driven me to explore the depths of this field. What captivates me is biology’s potential to transform life and solve real-world problems—not only helping us understand existence but also enabling us to engineer life components and design new systems in this technological era. I eagerly anticipate the day when I can create novel, impactful biomaterials with my own hands.
To deepen my exploration, I’ve participated in competitions such as the International Biology Olympiad (IBO, Bronze), Biology Competition (BC, Global Gold), Senior Physics Competition (SPC, Silver), and the International Chemistry Quiz (ICQ, Silver). Additionally, I joined the China Thinks Big innovation project to broaden my academic horizons.
I look forward to collaborating with my team and embracing this intellectual feast in our iGEM journey!
